Ms. Susan Bonner
Paraprofessional
Desert Sun Elementary School

Susan is very committed to providing the best for our students and this is evident in her consistent dedication and reliability to both the students and staff.  She is always thinking of ways to improve the educational experience for our students. Susan seeks out items outside of school that are of educational interest to enrich the lessons being taught and she is the first person to jump in and lend a hand when help is needed. If she sees something that needs to be done, she takes care of it with grace and integrity and we are thankful to have her on the DSA team!

Ms. Lisa Kunz
Special Education Instructional Coach/ PALS Teacher

Lisa has structured our PALS classrooms so that all students are successful. She spends many extra hours to support students and staff so that they are prepared for their lessons and she does it with a smile on her face. Lisa is available to support students and teachers and she extends a positive attitude throughout campus. It is obvious that she believes in ALL students and that they are worthy of respectful tasks and she is constantly creating new ways to make them feel empowered in their accomplishments.  She is what makes CCUSD a great place to teach and to learn!

Ms. Antonella Nechtman
4th Grade Teacher
Black Mountain Elementary School

Antonella supports the whole staff at being on time, remembering meetings and doing their personal best. She is a model teacher and mentor as well as a leader at Black Mountain. Antonella has helped many new teachers over the years and this year was no exception. She has mentored a new teacher this year by helping with lesson planning, time management and classroom management. Antonella is flexible and willing to go outside of her comfort zone for the betterment of her students and it shows in their successes in and out of the classroom. We are so fortunate that Antonella is a valuable member of the Black Mountain and CCUSD family!

Ms. Deb Nosan

Deb has worked to create and adjust the Specials schedule to ensure that each and every student is getting what they need to enrich their education. It has been an ever-evolving process and she responds with a smile and a solution at every turn. She does everything expected of her with integrity and exceedingly impressive results. With updates to electronic platforms, adding Clever, and coordinating our lab, she is constantly making the Desert Willow campus better. Deb helps Desert Willow run effectively and efficiently and we are grateful for her many contributions to our school and our District!

Sonoran Trails Middle School

You continuously seek ways to save Sonoran Trails money by coming up with creative solutions from handling massive copy requests to stretching supplies. You go the extra mile to get the job completed to perfection whether it be an administrative task or providing excellent customer service to all. Your student aides adore and respect you and you are always showing them your appreciation with kindness and, at times, even donuts! You never show stress and you set a positive example of poise and positivity for all. You manage the bookstore, workroom, M&O purchasing, attendance for the entire school, supervision and training for front office student aides and you fill in at the reception desk. You are a one-stop-shop!

Mr. Sid Tolbert
Groundskeeper
Facilities/Maintenance Department

Sid takes so much pride in his work. At the end of each day we all can look back and see the improvements he has made around the schools. He always step up to take on a task that helps each site. Whether it is helping out a plant manager or someone at transportation, Sid regularly offers his assistance. Sid is pulled in many different directions but he adjusts beautifully and gets the job done well. He helps with athletics both in the schools and with youth groups. Sid’s contribution to our community and our District is exceptional and he makes CCUSD proud!

Mr. Robert (Bobby) Vallillo
Bus Driver
Transportation Department

Bobby has gone over and above to transform the bus yard. He spends every spare moment between shifts trimming trees, pulling weeds and raking gravel to get this area in shape and he has made a tremendous improvement in how it looks.  With just two groundskeepers, Bobby noticed that the Transportation facility was in need of attention and took the initiative to clean it up. He fills in whenever and wherever he is needed and when he sees that something needs done, he steps up to help.  He is an inspiration to his coworkers and to his friends!

Ms. Staci Wiese
Principal
Desert Willow Elementary School

Staci has stepped in to lead Desert Willow by storm!  In just a few months she has made some monumentally positive impacts to the school and to our District. She visits classrooms each week, she is in constant communication with all staff and students and she is supportive and understanding of staff needs.  Staci can even be seen assisting lunch aides when short-staffed. Most importantly, she is continuously optimistic and brings positivity to Desert Willow and CCUSD. We are so lucky to have Staci in our District and at the helm at Desert Willow
