Ms. Cunningham

I am the biggest nerd/geek ever and your student will not regret being in my class.

For those of you who haven't had the chance to visit my classroom, the picture to the left (myself, at San Diego Comicon, standing in front of the TARDIS from the TV show Doctor Who) conveys the same idea - I'm a nerd/geek who loves superheroes and many other equally awesome things. If your student loves Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Pokemon, Star Wars, Star Trek, the DC or Marvel universes, comic books in general, is a reader, writer, musician, theatre/drama kid, or artist, plays video games, can troubleshoot your computer and/or mobile device, or has eclectic taste in music, then we've got at least one thing in common. I also love football (Go Cardinals!) and keep up with enough of the other sports to generally know what point of the season we're in, and I love going to the games to support my students.

Was that a lot to take in? The short version is, I'm about 99% sure that I can and will find something in common with your student this year, and I look forward to using that connection to help your student learn.

This is my ninth year teaching, and I've always taught middle school with the exception of my student teaching where I was lucky to get to work with graduating seniors in high school. I'm grateful for that experience because I have a multitude of things I can talk to middle school students about in terms of helping them prepare for high school and beyond.

I'm THRILLED to be a part of the Cave Creek and Sonoran Trails family, and I can't wait to share my love of the English language with your student!
