Cell Phone Guidelines

In CCUSD, it is our commitment to maintain an environment conducive to learning and personal development.  With that in mind, we will be enforcing the elimination of devices on our campuses.

Students in possession of telecommunications devices, including but not limited to, cell phones, smartwatches, non medical listening devices, and headsets, while on school property will adhere to the following expectations:

Clear Bag Guidelines

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, CCUSD has implemented a clear bag expectation for all high school athletic events held on any CCUSD premises. These guidelines help expedite entry and enhances security measures for all students, families, staff, and event participants. These guidelines were created to:

  • Enhance security:  allowing for quick visual inspections, reducing the risk of prohibited items entering the venue.
  • Streamline entry:  Reduction of wait time to enter the event
  • Create Consistency:  These guidelines ensure our school remains consistent with broader security practices, providing a safer environment for everyone.

Policies

  • No Drugs or Vaping A.R.S § 13-3411
  • No Alcoholic Beverages A.R.S § 4-244
  • No Tobacco A.R.S § 13- 3622
  • No Weapons A.R.S § 13-3102

Mandatory IDs

New for the 2024-25 school year, all K-12 students must wear their school-provided ID while using school transportation and on school grounds. Student safety continues to be our top priority and wearing visible identification (ID cards) plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment.

Why must all kindergarten through 12th grade students wear their ID cards while using school transportation and on school grounds?

  • Identification and Security:  ID cards help our staff quickly identify individuals who belong on school premises.  This is particularly important in emergency situations or when we have visitors on campus.

  • Access Control:  ID cards will be incorporated into purchasing lunch, checking out books, and moving from one location to another on some campuses.

  • Attendance and Accountability:  Wearing IDs helps us accurately track attendance, especially during emergencies and drills.  It also encourages a sense of responsibility amongst students for their own safety and well-being.

  • Community Standards:  By wearing IDs, students contribute to a positive school culture where safety and respect for rules are valued.

We kindly request your support in ensuring that your child wears their ID card visibly (around neck and on a lanyard) while on school property.  This small measure significantly enhances our ability to maintain a secure and orderly learning environment.

All K-12th grade students will be provided their first ID (and lanyard) free of cost.  If the ID needs to be replaced, students will need to pay $5 for a replacement ID.  For younger students, consider purchasing a breakaway lanyard.
