About la Sra: Sra Turk is originally from upstate New York, but has also lived in Tennessee and Arizona for the last six years. She has recently received her Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education Spanish from Northern Arizona University, graduating Summa Cumme Laude. She was also awarded the BSEd Spanish student of the year during her studies. After graduating, Sra Turk started her professional career in teaching Spanish at Cactus Shadows High School in December of 2020. She looks forward to having her full first year of teaching Falcons this year!
Educational Philosophy: I believe that education means greater opportunity for everyone; knowledge allows us to grow within our communities and within the world to create change and advancement. As a teacher, it is my job to provide an evironment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, learning, and growing together with their classmates through collaboration. I believe students learn best when they feel safe and supported by their teacher and their classmates. The goal I make for myself is to inspire students to be curious to continue to learn-- no matter if their interest is in Spanish or not. It is my belief that all students can learn in an educational setting when their individual needs are met and understood; this means that I will always treat my students equitably to provide them with the same opportunities to succeed.
