Welcome to My Class
Dear Parents and Students,
CCUSD schools remain closed. There are supplemental education resources for all students, however, teachers are not in the schools and will not be available through March 27th. We are working with the Arizona Department of Education to understand more about school closures and our next steps. In the meantime, you may want to visit the two web pages linked below, one for COVID 19 updates, and one for at-home supplemental education resources. We will continue to provide updates as often as possible. We appreciate your patience during this unprecedented time.
Together, we will explore the world of Geometry: one/two/three dimensional shapes, constructions, reasoning and proof, linear/square/cubic measurement, coordinate geometry, transformations, similar and congruent polygons, triangle trigonometry, composite figures, geometric probabliity, and circles.
If you embrace the challenge, work hard to traverse obstacles, and never give up, you'll be successful!
“I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions, I have been entrusted to take the game-winning shot…and missed. I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” - Michael Jordan
See you in Geometry class, Falcons!
Assignments are posted on the board in class, listed on each student's unit point register, and listed under the current unit's assignment task in the online grade portal. To check what has been assigned online, go to infinite campus and click on the current unit's assignments, and a list will populate. Assignments cannot be found on this website.
A key to each assignment is posted in class, and it is the student's responsibility to check their assignments for accuracy and complete corrections. Students can correct mistakes individually or obtain help from me on workdays or during lunch-time office hours. Once an assignment is complete, graded, and corrected, it may be submitted for credit.
Assignments are a work in progress throughout each unit. Once an assignment is complete, it has to be graded and corrected. Each student will work at their own pace to make corrections depending on their own individual strengths. As such, grades for assignments are updated in the on-line gradebook at the end of each unit. This gives all students a fair chance to master content at their pace. An assignment will be considered on time and may be awarded full credit if it is submitted prior the unit assessment. Assignments turned in after the unit assessment are considered late and may not be accepted for credit.
During a unit, parents/guardians are invited to contact me via email to check on the progress of their student's assignment grade.
