BA Special Education MS Curriculum and Instruction (In Progress)
Mrs. Angie Schauwecker
I am excited to be returning to LMES and the Upper PALS (4-6th Grade) for the third year. Teaching is a "second act" for me. While my son was growing up, I was a full-time mom and part-time fitness business owner. I taught exercise classes and ran my own "Boot Camp" for eighteen years. When my son went off to college, I knew I needed to find another purpose. I had worked at Devereux after high school and really loved special education and the exceptional students I worked with. I returned to college and finished my BA degree in Special Education. I was lucky enough to do my student teaching at LMES and was offered the Upper PALS teaching position, where I have been since becoming a certified Special Education teacher. I am currently working on my MS in Curriculum and Instructions, so that I can be the best teacher I can be.
I believe every child is capable of amazing things in regards to their education. It's important to find what sparks interest in our students so they are excited to learn and grow. Children learn differently. It is my job to find which way I can teach our students so that they can meet their goals and reach their full potential. I am proud that we have created a safe, happy, accepting and inclusive community in our room and at LMES.
