Mrs. Aly Betances

Hello! I am excited to join Sonoran Trails! It will be my first year in Phoenix and my 25th year teaching. I moved to Phoenix following my husband’s new business venture and fell in love with Cave Creek. I have four children three who have finished college, and my youngest who is a first-year student at FSU. I have taught grade levels ranging from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. I have a true passion for science and the environment, as well as for creating lifelong learners. I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment. I have high expectations for all my students. I look forward to collaborating with you as partners in your child’s academic growth and greater self-confidence. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

My Educational Philosophy

  • Learning should be fun! I believe we need to teach the whole child from arithmetic, science to their social and emotional well-being. Encouraging the students to be open to learn without hesitation or fear. Teachers should be facilitators in the room, allowing students to venture with innovative ideas, while I guide them through using the different concepts and procedures. We need to give students the tools they need to be better learners so that they can use the tools they have in real world situations. Through scaffolding the lessons learned the students will be able to tackle the problems ahead. I will treat my students with respect and the dignity that they deserve while expecting the same from them. "The important thing is to NOT STOP questioning “~Albert Einstein
