Mrs. Stephanie Holder

My name is Stephanie Holder and I will be your Resource Teacher for this school year at Horeshoe Trails Elementray. While I spent my life in the mid-west ( Minnesota and Wisconsin) I decided about 25 years ago to trade the snow for the sun. I attended ASU first and received my undergraduate degree in Special Education with a cross categorical certification emphasis. I love going to school, so after teaching special education for 10 years, I attained my Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University. I have taught special education for the past 23 years in a variety of settings and am motivated by the belief that all students are able to learn and all students bring something special to the classroom.

Personally, I have lived in the Valley since 1994. I enjoy reading and binge watching series on Netflix ( something I  found myself doing more often during quarantine) and helping my kids navigate this world we are living in. My hope for you all is that during this year, you explore all of the subjects with an open mind and a willingness to try. Please ask questions as often as you need to! My goal is for you to have an excellent experience and support you all as best I am able! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need any help. After the fact can be too late so reach out early please!

When asked why I teach, the answer is simple. My belief is that different is not less, we all bring individual gifts to the classroom and every student is valuable!

I an excited to start this journey with you all!

  • Dr. Temple Grandlin once said, “Different is not less”. That statement summarizes my eduactional philosophy best. Students come in all shapes and sizes, strengths and weaknesses and temprament. I feel, as a special education teacher, it is my honor to help each student become their best self. At times I wear many different hats, but all have the same end goal: to support students in academics achieve their goals and find what they love to do.
