Welcome to Speech
-
Hello! This is my 9th year as the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Black Mountain Elementary. I am a state licensed SLP and have worked as a school based SLP for 18 years. I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of special needs students, including developmental delays, down syndrome, autism, learning disabilities, fluency disorders, language disorders, and articulation/phonological disorders. I help children improve their articulation, fluency (stuttering), and/or language skills (vocabulary, concepts, comprehension, expression, grammar, inferencing, pragmatics, and more) in order to improve their social interactions and classroom performance. I enjoy working with young children and watching them grow and succeed.
I graduated from Indiana State University with a M.S. in Communication Disorders. I have been a resident of Cave Creek, AZ for the past 13 years. Prior to moving to beautiful Arizona, I lived in Indiana. I am married to a special education teacher and have two daughters, two dogs and a cat. When not working I enjoy cooking, sewing, doing puzzles, camping in Rocky Point, Mexico, and spending time with my family.
