Sonoran Trails Athletics
Welcome to the Athletic Department at Sonoran Trails Middle School. GO STINGERS!
Dear STMS Athletes and Parents,
Just want to update everyone on the AIA Executive Board meeting to reverse their decision today (1/12) to cancel winter sports season. Unfortunately I just found out this morning that the Deer Valley Head Athletic Director and Administration decided to cancel volleyball at the middle schools even if the decision was reversed. They are canceling basketball season as well. We are hopeful for baseball and softball and also the track and field season to still be there for our students to participate in. Keep checking back for more information.
About STMS Athletics
Sonoran Trails Middle School offers a wide range of interscholastic sports. The 7th grade teams will compete in the North Valley Middle Level Conference (NVMLC) with 4 Deer Valley schools: Deer Valley, Hillcrest, Desert Sky and Highland Lakes. The 8th grade teams will compete in the DVCC 7/8 Conference against Deer Valley, Hillcrest, Desert Sky, Highland Lakes and Stetson Hills.
There are five sports physical forms that need to be turned in to the front office before your son/daughter can practice or participate. They include the Athletic Emergency Information Form, Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form, Pre-Participation Physical Examination Form, Concussion Statement and Acknowledgement Form and the Athletic Handbook signatures (page 6). All forms are on this web page.
The athletic programs offered at Sonoran Trails are funded through a parent supported pay to participate program with an athletic fee of $155 per season. The Athletic Fee Form with the $155 athletic fee (may be Tax Credit) must be paid after making a team and before the first regular season game, meet or match.
