Welcome to 5th grade science and social studies with Mrs. Brashears (extension 8554)!
I am an Arizona native who graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I believe in student-centered and project-based learning to create learners who take ownership of their learning.
In science we have four main units of focus in 5th grade: Space, Properties of Matter, Simple Machines/Force, and Environment and Adaptation. In social studies we focus on the geography and history of the United States: spanning from the earliest explorers to the industrial revolution.
