Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Denine McNamara
Welcome! My name is Denine McNamara, Special Education teacher at Cactus Shadows High School. This is my second year at Cactus Shadows and I will be teaching Science Essentials/Biology. Last year I taught Algebra 1/2 and Geometry Essentials. I am very familiar with the district, having 4 children, two of which graduated from Cactus Shadows and are at University of Arizona as a senior, my son and a junior, my daughter. My two younger daughters are here at Cactus Shadows as a junior and a sophomore. I grew up in New York, where I earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology, from St. John's University. I moved to Arizona in 1995. Teaching has always been my dream job, specifically special education. I know this is where I belong, it is is my calling in life. I have so much empathy for these special needs and amazing students, and will do my best to help each individual child reach their full potential. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Special Education at Grand Canyon University. I love spending time with my four children helping them reach all of their dreams and ambitions. When I am not teaching, I love the movies, dinners out on the weekends, shopping, dancing and listening to music, and taking care of my two wonderful dogs. I am so looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year, and working with all these amazing students. Let's all work together to make Cactus Shadows a wonderful high school experience filled with memories and high expectations for the future. Thank you for letting me be part of your children's lives!
