Mrs. Artemis Bayless

I am a native Upstate New Yorker and a U.S. Navy veteran. I have been an artist since I was a child and my preferred artmaking method is mixed media two-dimensional work, however, I love all art media! My favorite artists are children. 2020-21 will be my tenth year teaching and my eighth year teaching art. I am fluent in Spanish and am thrilled at the opportunity to teach art in Spanish to Spanish Immersion students.  I absolutely love teaching and sharing art with children and I am always looking forward to all of the fun projects we will make together!

As COVID-19 has profoundly impacted students' educational experiences, I have come to value even more deeply the times when we connect in person in the studio. I believe that visual art and the arts in general are very important avenues for self-expression and, thus, for development, not only for children but for all of us. I have valued my ability to connect online with students during our stay-at-home time quarantine period, and I look expectantly to our ability to connect in person in the fall of 2020. It is my privilege to be in a position to guide and collaborate with such brilliant young creative people!!
