About Early Entrance
-
The Cave Creek Unified School District Kindergarten Entrance Policy states that children may attend kindergarten if they are 5 before September 1 of that school year. This policy does allow for exceptions to be made for children that turn 5 between September 1 and December 31 if they successfully pass the Early Entrance screening.
The screening is used to measure skills in areas of development that will most likely assure a successful and satisfactory kindergarten experience. These areas include: fine motor skills, gross motor skills, color recognition, rote counting and identifying letters.
The Early Entrance Screening will be offered twice during the summer, mid/early June and mid/early July. We do not offer any late assessments in August. A $50 non-refundable fee is also required. If you are interested in Early Entrance testing for your child, please complete this form.
Each school also hosts Kindergarten Roundup Informational Nights in the Spring. This is an excellent opportunity to visit the school site and meet some of our wonderful staff. Learn more about these information nights here.
