Assessment

  • Assessments are an important part of the learning process. For students and teachers, assessments not only tell us where we've been, but also where we need to go.

State required assessments, such as the AASA and AzSCI measure students' proficiency of the state's academic standards. The Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) measures students’ English language proficiency.

Other assessments at our schools, such as common assessments and DIBELS, are used to inform instruction. The cognitive abilities (gifted) test and 6th grade math placement tests are used to place students in appropriate programs or classes.
