*Kindergarten isn't a race but rather a journey to develop a lifelong love of learning.
*Every child is an individual and needs to be celebrated as such. They all learn, grow and develop in their own amazing ways. My desire is to meet each child where they are at and help them reach for learning opportunities so they can develop skills that will help them through out their education.
*A love of learning is the best gift that you can give any child.
*Teachers and parents can help give the kids the tools they need to foster a love of learning.
This is my 15th year teaching at Desert Willow Elementary School. I love teaching kindergarten. It is an amazing time of growth, exploration and discovery. It is fun to see how much the kids grow in our year together and see the world through their eyes.
*I am the proud mom of two wonderful kids. My son is studying Physical Therapy and Performance Training at NAU. My daughter is married and lives in Montana, where she trains horses and works as an Analytical Chemist. Her husband works with the fire department. We spend our free time going to Escape the Room, museums, and movies. I also love to cook!
*Silly Fun Facts - I love chocolate, and iced tea - I have two dogs named Valor and Grace - I enjoy reading - I try to garden but don't have my green thumb yet - Purple is my favorite color - My favorite movies include Pirates, Lord of the Rings, and pretty much any comedy - I love music of all kinds and from around the world - I try to learn at least one new thing every year - Some of our adventures have been hiking Havasupai Falls (24 miles round trip/camping), dog sledding, a month touring Ireland, learning to speak Irish and white water rafting.
