Miss Rita Antoni
Welcome to 4th/5th grade with Miss Antoni! This is my sixth year working at Desert Sun Academy! I am excited to have the opportunity to be your fourth and fifth grade teacher this year. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
I was born and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago..The Windy City! My family consists of my dad James Sr., my mom Rita, my oldest brother James Jr., my middle brother Ryan, and of course my two dogs Ivan and Mia, who are Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Minor in Family and Human Development. Go Sun Devils!! Before working at DSA, I student taught in a fourth grade classroom in Phoenix. I also have tutored English Language Learners from all around the world when working with the America Reads program. During the past few summers, I had the opportunity to work with 9th through 12th graders in a Special Education classroom as a teacher’s assistant. These experiences have helped me to grow and learn as an educator.
In my free time I enjoy attending or watching hockey (Blackhawks), football (DA BEARS!), and baseball (Cubs) (in that order), traveling, reading, working out, swimming, hiking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Since I am not a native Arizonian, I am always looking to discover new places and things to do, so feel free to share your favorites with me!
I am looking forward to meeting and working with my new fourth graders. We will all experience and enjoy a variety of exciting things this school year!
