My Educational Philosophy/Personal Teaching Statement:

I am a dance educator who is passionate about inspiring young dance artists. I am approachable and committed to offering stimulating and challenging dance curriculum to my students. In my first four years teaching dance at a public high school, I grew the dance program from 120 to 290 dancers. I am infectious about my art, and I am able to create a classroom environment where my students are too. My primary interest is merging contemporary issues, historical moments, and contextualizing cultures with dance, and then bringing them to performance. Additionally, I enjoy exploring rhetorical theories and their connections to historical and contemporary dance choreography, as well as  persuasive writing and dance-creating on public issues, while focusing on arts in Arizona.
