• Welcome to Mrs. Siegel's Preschool Class!

My name is Mrs. Kelli Siegel and I am so excited to be teaching Preschool at Horseshoe Trails for the 2023-24 school year!  I am looking forward to a fantastic year by providing all of my young students with wonderful opportunities to LEARN through PLAY-based activities, including classroom free-choice center time, circle time, outdoor recess time, just to name a few!  My amazing assistant teacher, Mrs. Miller, has been working with me since 2016 and this will be her 27th year working in CCUSD!  She definitely shares the same dedication and love for teaching your little darlings as I do!

As a passionate early childhood educator, I am dedicated to teaching my Preschool students the importance of becoming kind, responsible, and independent individuals.  My philosophy is that a high-quality Preschool classroom will provide my young learners with a variety of opportunities to engage in child-directed, hands-on play activities during their school day which, in turn, motivates them to WANT to learn.  As young children explore our developmentally appropriate classroom & outdoor environment, the goal is for my students to naturally develop a lifetime love for learning.  Child-led play opportunities help students to learn & practice necessary social skills for school success as they follow their true interests for a more engaging learning experience.  To support the children's overall growth & development, I am committed to ensuring that all of my students have many opportunities to further develop their social & emotional competency, language & communication skills, creativity, early math/science/cognitive skills, and their fine and gross motor skills.  By observing & mentoring young children through their social interactions or conflicts with peers, I can then teach my students about the importance of using positive social skills to help them to build strong friendships.   As children learn and practice their social skills in our Preschool setting, they will continue to grow and develop the necessary people skills throughout the rest of their lives.  I truly believe in building a strong school-home connection and relationship with each of my families so that together we can provide the best support for the child(ren) during their early years.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions/concerns.  I am looking forward to an AMAZING year with your children!  GO STALLIONS!!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Siegel
