Ms. Jean Robertson
Hello! Welcome back! Looking forward to my third year at Cactus Shadows High School in the Life Skills program for the 2022-23 school year! I have been living here in Arizona now for 21 years, 3 years in Castle Rock, south of Denver, and southern California, born and raised. Blessed with four boys, I raised as a single Mom; the oldest graduated from ASU, married and recruiting for Salad n'Go. My second son is an Engineer at Oakley, my third is studying Business Marketing at Colorado State University (my alma mater) and the fourth will be working towards his wildland fire training.
Teaching Special Education is a joy; every day brings challenges but many blessings. I started in 2006 with students with more severe and profound support needs for three years in functional living skills and moved into the transition program in the PUSD school district. Working with young adults, I supported students as they developed transition skills in the areas of daily living and workplace skills. Learning by doing, as they learned to navigate the world around practicing their skills. I enjoy seeing their growth as they succeed in independence and abilities in their adult life. I continue to support a few students in respite needs and support their job ambitions.
Looking forward to a great year and seeing smiling faces.
Jean Robertson
