Ms. Haley Vago

Haley Vago was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Pinnacle High School from 2007-2011. In 2015, she graduated Magna cum Laude from Arizona State University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education and a minor in Psychology. At ASU she danced in several pieces choreographed by students and faculty, as well as choreographed works on other dancers. In her last year at ASU, she was elected the Vice President of the Dance Undergraduate Organizational Support group which oversaw the dance program in the Herberger's School of Film, Theatre, and Dance. Haley student taught her senior year at Cactus Shadows High School, and received the Outstanding Teacher Candidate award from ASU. Haley has been dancing since the age of two years old, training in a variety of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical/Contemporary. This is her 3rd year coaching the Varsity Pom Team at Cactus Shadows, but has coached for a total of 7 years. In her spare time she enjoys trying new recipes, going on hikes with her dog Stella (and dancing, of course!)

  • Cactus Shadows Dance Department

    Cactus Shadows is home to a thriving Dance Department which includes Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, Honors Falcon Dance Company and Unified Dance.  These courses are ran by Haley Vago and Elissa Ericson. Ms. Vago and Ms. Ericson are thrilled to begin the 2021-2022 school year!

    DANCE PHILOSOPHY

    Dance Education provides students with dance experiences that will enhance their understanding of dance technique and choreography in relation to themselves, society and historical contexts.Various styles and approaches of dance allow students the opportunity to express themselves individually and collectively through the use of dance elements.Students will be able to evaluate the execution of technique and the creation of choreography of others are well as their own.
