Sra. Jocelyn D. Raught

As an educator, I am committed to life-long learning and doing the best possible. I strive to instill this in my students. Language learning is not about grammar and vocabulary, but rather learning about the world from a new perspective through communication; this includes learning about ourselves and our culture as well as the many others in the world.

I am an active member of the World Language learning and teaching community. I have served on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Board of Directors; was  President of the Southwest Conference on Language Teaching (SWCOLT) and currently serving as the Executive Director; was twice President of the Arizona Language Association (AZLA) and currently serve as the Executive Treasurer; and am a member of the Arizona Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.  I am a true advocate for language learning and have helped create our new AZ World and Native Language Standards and the new AZ State Seal of Biliteracy.
