Mrs. Macris

I have been working with and guiding students for going on twenty years, ranging in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. Working with children has constantly invigorated me and has helped me grow as a teacher, friend, mother, writer, artist, observer, thinker, explorer and more.   

My family and I have just moved to the Cave Creek area after many years of Chicago weather and are happy to explore this new desert land and culture.  I love art, cooking, singing, reading, math, imagination, nature and traveling.    

 

 

Creative Inquiry Curriculum

  • All students will explore subjects loosely related to their traditioanl classroom's curriculum.   During each quarter, students will go on a quest, based on grade level content standards, to inquire, discover and develop innovative projects related to Driving Questions.   This curriculum design will give the students an opportunity to explore content on a deeper level through PBL (Problem-Based Learning!). All the overriding themes were chosen from the AZ State Standards which can be reviewed here.

    9:30 AM- DWES and HTES arrive at Sonoran Trails

    9:30- 9:50 AM- Attendance and a Warm Up 

    9:50- 11:45 AM- Project Work 

    11:45-12:00 PM- Clean up and Reflection  

    12:00 PM- Board bus and return to school 

    12:30 PM- BMES, LMES, and DSA arrive at Sonoran Trails. 

    12:30- 12:50 PM- Attendance and a Warm Up

    12:50- 2:00 PM- Project Work   

    2:50- 3:00 PM- Clean up and Reflection 

    3:00 PM- Board bus and return to school
